Sponge cake flavoured with orange juice and orange zest ..

Ingredients

1 cup All purpose flour /maida

2 tsp Baking powder

1 cup Castor sugar

3 Egg

10 tbsp Hot milk

1 tbsp Orange zest

2 tbsp Orange juice

Directions

1Pre heat the oven at 160 degree C. Grease and dust 11" x 7 1/2" rectangle cake tin . Sift the flour and baking powder thrice . Keep it aside . Heat the milk and keep it aside .

2In a bowl, beat eggs well . Both yolk and egg whites together . Add sugar and beat it until it is almost stiff and pale in colour .

3Gently fold in flour and hot milk , starting and ending with flour . Add orange zest and orange juice. Gently fold the batter . Do not stir .

4Transfer it into the prepared baking tin and bake for 18 - 20 minutes at 160 degree C.

All the ingredients used must be room temperature .
Do not stir the batter .

I dont have a 200 ml cup, only 250ml.
What are the changes need to be made in other ingredients if using 250 mil.

Hi Fizza ..
Reduce the temperature..Pre heat with both the rods on.As soon as you keep the batter inside turn off the top rod ..Let it bake with bottom rod on .Use a wooden tooth pick to check if the cake is done ..Now turn on the top rod until the top gets evenly brown .

Dear Shano Mam…. I have a lot to learn from You…Today i baked this cake..First of all Crack appeared on cake….in starting it rose perfectly but by time baking was complete it fell down n became flat….Outside had becom brown but inside was not baked.
i had baked on lower rack with both rods on.
My bread n buns come out perfectly at the temp mentioned in exact time.What went wrong here.

Shano mam …..i have abajaj oven which has 2 rods top n bottom and 2 racks lower n middle…..which rods should be used for baking n on which rack …if u could guide me.At time my bread n cakes get burnt or sometime undercooked.
Please advice.
