Appam Batter – 3

2 cups Raw rice

1 cup Grated Coconut

1 cup Coconut milk

1 cup Beaten Rice

3 tbsp Sugar

2 tsp Salt

1 tsp Instant dry yeast

1/2 cup Water

1 tsp Baking soda


4Wash and clean the rice well. Soak the rice in water for 3-4 hours.

5Drain the water.

6Take a large mixie jar. Grind all the above mentioned ingredients (except baking soda) into a smooth batter.

7Transfer the batter to a large vessel. Let it ferment for 8 hrs.

8Mix baking soda in 1 tbsp water. Add this to the batter . Stir gently. Add 1/4 cup extra water if the batter is too thick.

9Make appams in appa Kadai/ Dosa Tawa.
