Chocolate Coconut Cake

1 cup All purpose flour/Maida

1/4 cup Cocoa powder

1/4 tsp Baking powder

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

1/2 cup Salted butter

3/4 cup Granulated Sugar

1 Egg

6 tbsp Lightly toasted coconut

4 tbsp Thick coconut milk

1/3 cup Lukewarm water

1 tbsp Apple Cidar Vinegar

1 tsp Vanilla essence


1Grease and dust a 6” aluminium pan.

2Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa powder thrice.

3Keep the toasted coconut and thick coconut milk ready.

4Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla essence and gently beaten egg.

5Fold in sifted flour, coconut milk, lukewarm water and toasted coconut.

6Now add 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar.

7Transfer it to the prepared tin.

8Bake at 150 degrees C for 40- 45 mins.
