Citrusy Ginger Cake

Ingredients

125 g All purpose flour/ Maida

1/2 tsp Baking powder

1 1/2 tbsp Dry ginger powder

100 g Salted butter

100 g Granulated sugar

1 Egg

1/4 cup Orange juice

7-8 Orange slices

6-7 tbsp Brown sugar

4 tbsp Melted butter

Directions

2Grease and dust a 9” aluminium pan. Line the pan with parchment sheet. Pre heat the oven at 150 degrees C.

3First, evenly spread brown sugar and meltedbutter into the prepared tin. Place sliced oranges on top and on the sides.Bake for 4- 5 minutes @ 150 degrees C. Turn off the oven. Take the pan out. Keep it aside.

4Sift all the dry ingredients thrice.

5Cream butter and sugar. Add gently beaten egg.

6Add the sifted flour and orange juice.

7Mix the batter gently. Add 1-2 tbsp of water if the batter is too thick.

8Transfer the batter to the prepared tin. Bake for 40-45 minutes @ 150 degrees C.
