Rosemary Garlic Beer Bread

1 1/2 cups All purpose flour/ Maida

1 1/2 cups Bread flour

1 tsp Instant dry yeast

1 Egg

1 tbsp Sugar

1 tsp Salt

1 cup Beer/ luke warm water

1 tbsp Oil

2 tbsp Garlic paste

2 tsp Rosemary


1In a bowl mix all the ingredients together except water/ beer.

2Add water/ beer. Knead well for 10 minutes. Add oil.

3Knead for another 3-4 minutes.

4Shape the dough into a ball.

5Place it into a well oiled bowl. Cover it with cling film.

6Let it rise. The dough should double in volume.

7Punch down the dough gently. Knead for another 3-4 minutes.

8Shape it into a loaf. Grease and dust a loaf tin.

9Place the dough into the prepared tin.

10Let it rise.

11Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees C.

12Place the tin into the oven.

13Bake for 30 minutes.

14Egg wash the crust.

15Bake for another 3-4 minutes until the crust is golden brown in colour.

16Turn off the oven.

17Remove the bread from the tin. Apply butter liberally.

18Let the loaf cool well
