Spicy Chicken Curry

500 g Medium size chicken pieces

1 1/2 cup Onion sliced

2 tbsp Garlic paste

1 tbsp Ginger paste

1 cup Tomato finely cut

2 tsp Fenugreek powder

1 tbsp Garam Masala

2 tbsp Red Chilli powder

3 tbsp Coriander powder

1 tsp Turmeric powder

1 tbsp Black pepper powder

1 tsp Jeera powder

10-12 Curry leaves

3 tbsp Gingely Oil

1 1/2 cups Water

Salt to taste


2Place a small pressure cooker on medium flame.

3Add oil.

4Lower the flame. Add garam masala and fenugreek powder.

5Add onion and curry leaves.

6Add tomatoes and rest of the ingredients except water.

7Cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Add water . Cover the pressure cooker . Cook for 12- 15 minutes. Turn of the heat. Do not remove the lid. Open the lid after 25-30 minutes.

8Let the gravy simmer and thicken for 8-10 minutes on low flame.

11Can be served with Appam or Chapatis.
