Black Sesame Paste Buns

For black sesame paste

1/2 cup Black sesame

2 tbsp Honey

For the dough

2 cups Bread flour

1 cup All purpose flour/ Maida

3 tbsp Molasses syrup

1 Instant dry yeast

1 tsp Salt

2 tbsp Refined oil

1 Egg

3/4 cup Water


For the Sesame paste

1Take a heavy bottom saucepan. Toast the sesame seeds on very low flame for 4-5 minutes. Turn off the heat. Let it cool.

2Grind it in a mixer without water until the oil comes out. Add honey and grind it until smooth.

3Store it in a airtight bottle. Can be refrigerated.

For the dough

1Mix all the dry ingredients in a stand mixer bowl on medium speed.

2Add water, egg , molasses and sesame paste.

3Knead for 10-12 minutes.

4Add refined oil.

5Knead for another 5-6 minutes.

6Cover the bowl with cling film. Let the dough rise.

7Let it double in volume.

8Punch down the dough gently. Knead for a minute or two.

9Divide the dough into equal portions each weighing 40 gms each.

10Shape each portion into a ball.

11Grease and dust a rectangular tin.

12Transfer these balls to the prepared tin.

13Let it proof.

14Preheat the oven at 180 degrees C.

15Place the tin into the oven. Bake for 18-20 minutes.

16Take the buns out . Apply butter liberally.
