1In a bowl, mix flour, instant dry yeast, sugar and salt well.
2Now add gently beaten egg.Mix well.
3Add 3/4 cup of water and knead for 6 minutes.
4Now add butter and knead for another 4 minutes.
5Shape the dough into a ball. Grease a small bowl with oil. Place the dough into the bowl.Cover it with cling film and keep it in a warm place . Let the dough double in volume.
6Now gently punch down the dough.
7Knead the dough gently for a minute.
8Using a rolling pin roll out the dough into a circle.
9You can use a donut cutter or a bottle cap to shape the donuts.
10Allow it to proof.
11Let it double in volume.
12You can bake them or fry them in oil. I deep fried them.
13Let it cool a bit. Dust it with icing sugar and serve.
