Guava tea cake

125 g Self raising flour

100 g Castor sugar

75 g Salted butter

2 Egg

3 tbsp Thick guava paste

3/4 tsp Lemon zest

3 1/2 tbsp Water

Pink food colour

6 tbsp Roasted pistachio nuts


1Pre heat the oven at 150 degrees C. Sift the flour thrice. Roast the pistachios and chop it.

2Grease and Line a 6” aluminium baking tin.

3Cream butter and sugar well. Add lemon zest.

4Add gently beaten eggs.

5Gently fold in flour, guava paste and water.Add a drop or two of pink food colouring.

6Now add the chopped roasted pistachios.

7Transfer it to the prepared cake tin.

8Bake at 150 degrees C,for 35-40 minutes or until done.
