Mildly Spicy Raisin Cake

125 g All purpose flour/ Maida

1/2 tsp Baking powder

1/8 tsp Baking soda

1/2 tsp Ginger powder

1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder

1/2 tsp Nutmeg powder

1/4 tsp Cardamom powder

110 g Salted butter

110 g Granulated sugar

1/3 cup Raisins chopped

1/4 cup Orange juice

1 Egg


1Grease and dust a 6” aluminium pan or keep the cupcake mounds ready. Pre heat the oven at 150 degrees C for 15 minutes.

2Sift all the dry ingredients together. Sift it thrice.

3Cream butter and sugar well.

4Add gently beaten egg.

5Continue creaming.

6Using a spatula fold in the flour mixture, orange juice and chopped raisins.

7This can be baked in a 6” aluminium pan or in cupcake moulds.

8Bake for 35- 40 mins if you are using a 6” baking tin. 18- 20 minutes of baking for cupcakes.
