Orange Tea Cake

150 g Maida/ All purpose flour

1/2 tsp Baking powder

1/8 tsp Baking soda

120 g Salted butter

130 g Granulated sugar

2 Eggs

2 tsp Orange zest

1/4 cup Orange juice

30 g Lindt Chocolate


1Pre heat the oven at 150 degrees C.

2Grease and dust a 8” aluminium pan.

3Sift the dry ingredients thrice.

4Cream butter , orange zest and sugar well.

5Add gently beaten eggs.

6Now gently fold in the sifted ingredients and orange juice. Add 1-2 tbsp of water / milk if the batter is too thick.Gently fold in the chocolate pieces.

7Bake for 30-40 minutes at 150 degrees C or until done.

This cake is an absolutely delicious and full if texture cake. I replaced the chocolate with candied fruits n fruit peel and instead of water used more orange juice to dilute the batter more. Apart from that I followed the recipe to T and i got the yummiest tasting cake. Thank you so very much.
