Papaya Turmeric Buns

1 1/2 cups All purpose flour/ Maida

1 1/2 cups Bread flour

1 Egg

3 tbsp Papaya powder

2 tsp Turmeric powder

2 tbsp Freshly ground black pepper

1 tsp Instant dry yeast

1 tbsp Sugar

1 tsp Salt

1 cup Non alcoholic beer

1 tbsp Refined oil


1Keep your stand mixer ready. Transfer all the dry ingredients into the mixer bowl. Turn on the mixer on low speed. Mix all the dry ingredients well for 2-3 minutes. Add all the wet ingredients. Warm the beer lightly before adding. You can add water instead of beer.

2Knead for 7-8 minutes on medium speed

3Add 1 tbsp oil. Knead for another 5-6 minutes.

4Turn off the mixer. Cover the dough with a wet towel. Let the dough double in volume.

5Now punch down the dough gently. Shape the dough nto small balls. Each ball weighing around 40gms.

6Transfer the balls to a rectangular tin.

7Leave some space between each ball.

8Proof it until double in volume.

9Meanwhile, Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees C.

10Place the tin in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.

11Take the buns out. Apply salted butter liberally.
