1/2 cup Rice flour

1 cup All purpose flour

2 tbsp Corn flour

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

3 tbsp Granulated sugar

1 Egg

2 tsp Cardamom powder

1 tsp Turmeric powder

3/4 cup Water

1/2 tsp Salt

2 Nendra pazham

Coconut Oil for frying


2In a bowl mix all the ingredients except nendrapazham and oil.

3Add more water. Stir well.The batter should be thick( coating consistency). Add 2-3 tbsp of extra water if the batter is too thick.

4Cut the nendra pazham into thin long stripes.

5Heat oil in a heavy bottom deep pan for frying.

6Dip the sliced nedra pazham in the batter until well coated . Fry them in hot oil until golden brown in colour and crisp on both sides. Drain excess oil and serve them hot.
